Kiwanis clubs adapt toys for children with disabilities: Short Takes on the Westshore

The Westlake and Berea Kiwanis clubs recently teamed up to help the nonprofit RePlay for Kids organization rework toys for children who have disabilities.
Sharing some pictures taken at the RePlay for Kids project at Porter Library last week. Our Westlake Kiwanis members joined by our friends from Berea Kiwanis Club, Ohio reworking toys to make it easier for our children with disabilities to enjoy. Also pictured is Aubrey Winczewski who was a WHS Kiwanis scholarship recipient last year and joined us in this effort. This program was brought to us by the organization Replay for Kids held at Westlake Porter Public Library on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Westlake Kiwanis Club awards $6000 in Scholarships
The Kiwanis Club of Westlake awarded $1,000 scholarships to six Westlake High School seniors to assist them as they move on to the next phase of their academic careers. The scholarship winners this year are Joseph Zak, Matthew Shaver, Tyler Schneider, Kristen Evans, Lilianne Eason and Sophia Min. These students will be pursuing academic studies that include attending an accredited university, college, or vocational / trade school after graduation from high school. We are proud of these students who not only excel academically but also reflect our club goals by giving back to the community.
