Kiwanis Club of Westlake Ohio
Kiwanis is a global organization of Adult volunteers dedicated to serving the children of the world and Westlake, Ohio.
The Westlake Kiwanis Club was honored to host our 2026 Memorial Day Ceremony as we joined our community in remembering and honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
The ceremony began with an invocation and concluded with a benediction by Kiwanis Secretary Norm Resko. President Nan Baker welcomed guests, and Mayor Dennis Clough reflected on our nation's 250th Anniversary celebration. We were privileged to hear from guest speaker Sara Markle, Master Sergeant (Ret.), 3rd Marine Corps Battalion, 25th Regiment, whose remarks reminded us of the true meaning of Memorial Day.
The program also included the raising of the flag and recognition of Westlake's fallen heroes, participation by the Western Reserve Sons of the American Revolution, a moving gun salute by Bay Village American Legion Post 385, and the stirring performance of Taps and Echo by talented Westlake High School band students.
Thank you to everyone who participated, attended, and helped make this meaningful day of remembrance possible. We will never forget those who gave their lives in service to our country.
